How do I install my new Byte update on a stand alone computer?

1. Insert the Byte CD.
2. When the Byte Installation screen appears, click Install Byte.

If you receive a message telling you that an older version of Byte must be installed, install a recent version of Byte on this computer before you attempt to reinstall the update.

If you receive a message telling you that the update cannot be installed because your maintenance is due and you know your maintenance is current, contact Support at 1-800-695-1008 ext. 2.  If your maintenance is not current, contact Sales at 1-800-695-1008 ext. 1.

1. When the installation is complete, close out of the installation program.
2. Open Byte.

Note: Expect Byte to take extra time to open after an update. Byte is updating the databases, adding fields and performing other tasks to make the databases compatible with the new version of Byte. You will eventually see a message that asks you to Please be patient .. as the updating process concludes.
