How do I order a credit report using CBCWeb?
Byte CBCWeb Interface
Note: If you are using a version of Byte that is less than 4.407, you will need to upgrade to the most recent release to access the latest interface functionality. You may obtain the latest release by clicking here.

After creating your new loan application, proceed to the Communications menu, and either double-click on Credit, or select Credit, and click on the Select Interface button (Figure 1).
Figure 1
You will then be presented with the Credit window. CBCWeb should be one of your available options (shown darkened in Figure 2). You can either double click the CBCWeb icon, or if it’s already selected, click on the Request Report button.
Figure 2
Note: The “Update List” button shown above is used to retrieve the most up-to-date version of the CBC Web interfaces. Using it once will update all product lists. Credit, Flood, Appraisal, Property, and Title products will all be updated no matter which product window you are using to access the Update List button.
Also, if you had previously ordered products for this applicant before, you can view those reports using the “View” button as shown in Figure 3. All retrieved products will be listed in the View Returned Data window.
Figure 3
After pressing Request Report, you will be brought to the CBCWeb interface window (Figure 4).

Figure 4
You will need to enter your Web login and password on this screen if there isn’t one already present, as well as any necessary information that you need to order your report.
Reference #: After getting your report back, the CBC Computer ID number (case id) will appear. Some customers use this for Fannie Mae reissues.
Loan Number: If left blank, it will default to the primary applicant’s social security number, with dashes when the report is ordered. This field can be changed, and also corresponds to the Lender Case Number field on the first page of your Byte loan application.
Vendor Selection: You may select your vendors here. If you leave them all unchecked the CBC system will pick the two best vendors based off of the borrower’s zip code. If you previously ordered one/two vendors, you may select additional vendors, and re-order the report to have the old one upgraded.
Report Format: Your choices are HTML and PDF.
HTML: Your report will open in a web browser when viewed, and will look the same as our CBCWeb credit report. You can order tradeline reference updates electronically with this format. Please refer to the “CBCWeb Users Guide”
PDF: Your report will open in Adobe Acrobat. The format is more “printer-friendly” (there are page breaks, rather than one continuous page), and it is nearly identical to the credit format users of CBCWin would receive. You can order reference updates with this format, but customer support will need to make a change (WebRepFormat = P) to your login to see active links on the tradelines.
Report Type: Allows you to select the type of report being ordered.
Infile: Standard Credit Report
RMCR: Full Report. See your CBC Bureau for details.
Single Best: Infile with a single “best” repository chosen based upon the borrowers zip code.
Two Best: Same as above, but the 2nd “best” repository is chosen as well.
Mortgage Only: Credit report with only the mortgage-related tradelines shown. (is otherwise treated like an Infile)
CreditXpert: HTML Report that shows the factors that impacts the applicants credit score, and suggests ways that the score can be improved.
CreditXpert with TriComparison: Same as above, but when all three bureaus are also selected, the report has an additional selection comparing and contrasting the score ranges that each of the repositories returns.
Reference Update Information: Permits the ordering of specific reference updates, without viewing the credit report.
If you fill in the information given in this section, and have a valid Reference Number, you can send a single Reference Update request to the CBC Bureau for processing. You can repeat this process in order to send multiple reference updates. You may also do this by viewing the report, and using the tradeline links available on the viewed credit report.
Buttons Available On This Window
Request: Orders your credit report. After selecting that button, you will soon either receive an error (due to a missing address, etc.), or the following popup window:
Note: If you had reference updates done on your credit report, you will need to re-order the report a second time in order to get the updated report.
Retrieve RMCR: This button will query our system to see if the RMCR has been completed, and is ready for retrieval. To import the tradelines, you will need to use the Import button.
Retrieve Update: This will check to see if there is an updated version of the credit report available on the system. It will only retrieve it if it has been queued up for retrieval by the CBC bureau.
View: Allows you to view and print your credit report. It will open with Adobe if you received your report in PDF format or in your internet browser if you had it set to HTML. If you have an RMCR/Update and an Infile/Mortgage Only, it will automatically default to showing the RMCR/Update. If you have both a RMCR/Update/Infile/Mortgage Only (any) and a CreditXpert report, it will give you a choice.
Import: Once you have received your credit report, you may import the liabilities into your 1003 with this button. If you have received both a credit report as well as a RMCR, you will be presented with the following selection:
In either case, you will next see the Import Liabilities Window (Figure 5)
Import Liabilities Screen
Figure 5
You can mask which account types are displayed with the Account Type Radio buttons, and remove items with no balance with the button displayed on this window.
To move liabilities into the loan application, you can select them and select to “write over” (to overwrite the existing trade if you have it already), “add new” (if you wish to have the trade added to the existing list), or “move all” (if you wish to have all trades on the left hand side appended to the existing list).
Reissue: This will allow you to reissue an infile report that was ordered under a different CBC account number. The Reference Number and borrower information must match the original report in order for it to be successfully reissued. Also, your login must be authorized to process these types of transactions.
After opening your loan application, proceed to the Communications menu, and either double-click on Flood, or select Flood, and click on the Select Interface button (Figure 6).
Figure 6
You will be presented with the Flood window; CBC Flood should be one of your available options (shown darkened in Figure 7). You can either double click the CBC Flood icon, or if it’s already selected, click on the Request Report button.

All of the data fields that are pertinent to ordering a Flood report are shown, and can be edited from this window. You can select what report type under the “Report Format” drop-down on this screen. Your report choices are Basic Flood Zone and Life of Loan report. If you wish to have Census Tract data included on the report, select the “Census Tract” checkbox.
