I am having to type in the same information for each new loan, like my required providers list. What can I do to avoid that repetition?

You can create a new file from a template file so you don't have to type commonly used wording and field selections. Increased speed and accuracy is the reward.

Creating a Template File

Before you can start creating new files from a template file, you must create the template file.

1. On the Main Menu, click Files and then double-click New.
2. If you currently have a file open, you will see the Status Screen. Click OK.
3. In the new file name field, name the template file something appropriate, such as FHA starter.
4. In the Options area, select Blank File.
5. Click OK to create the template file.
6. The new template file will open. Input the wording and settings that you want to see in files created from that template.
7. In the Menu Bar, click Borrower and select Status.
8. Select the Exclude file from management reports, the Exclude file from status reports, and the Use this file as a Template File check boxes, and then click OK.

To modify any template file, open it and edit it as you would any other borrower file. You will find it in the current loans database. Go through the different sections of the file and enter the default wording and field selections you want to see defaulted into new loan files. You can create as many different template files as you need. For example, you might have one template file for balloon loans, and another for FHA loan files.
