How do I import loan files from Byte Classic into BytePro?

  1. Open the BytePro data folder into which you will import the Byte data.
  2. Choose the subfolder (Active, Closed, etc.) into which the files should import.
  3. Click Tools (at the top) >> Import Byte Classic Data >> Select Loans/Users >> choose the Byte database to import from.
  4. An important consideration is next: you will almost certainly want to see your loan officers and loan processors assigned correctly to the imported BytePro files. If files are not assigned, they cannot be sorted or viewed by the loan officer or loan processor. The Byte users (LOs and LPs) must be imported before, or with loans in order for BytePro to correctly assign files.
  5. To ensure that files are assigned as they are imported, choose Import Users, and then select each active LO and LP from the list. You may also want to select other LOs or LPs you will need to sort by - even if they will not be active users. Your user license will not restrict the number of users you import, only the number of users who are eligible to log into the data folder.
  6. The account information for each selected user will display. Enter a user name (this will be the name displayed with files, and the log-in name), make sure the role is correct, and adjust permissions for the user below. For example, you might want to restrict a loan officer to a view of only their assigned files.
  7. The loan files import screen will display after the user import completes. If you click Cancel on the loan import screen, user imports are not affected.
