How do we back up our BytePro data?
There are many options, ranging across the board in cost and complexity. Copying files to CD might be sufficient, or copying files to a designated backup hard-drive might be best for your situation. We recommend using third party backup software and an IT professional or computer technician (depending on backup complexity) to implement it. Online information on backup products is readily available and useful - try searching for 'back up software' or 'back up software reviews' for product descriptions and reviews.
You will need to consider which BytePro data to back up, and how
often.
For frequently used data folders, both shared and personal, we
recommend backing up the Active Files subfolder daily and maintaining
the backup for at least five days.
We recommend backing up the other subfolders in the data folder at
least once a week, and maintaining the backup for at least a month.
If you opt for copying BytePro files to CD manually, you will need to contact your CD burn software provider for information on how to transfer your BytePro data to CD. Do a daily backup if you choose this method; the cost of a CD is cheap compared to that of recreating data.
The importance of backing up your loan files cannot be overstated. Hardware failures and virus corruption are almost inevitable - be prepared.
