My mortgage liabilities all say 'not counted'. How do I get them to count?

If the liability type is Mortgage (or home equity) BytePro will automatically flag the liability as 'not counted'. The program is designed not to count mortgage liabilities from the liabilities schedule. However, those mortgage liabilities will be counted from other sections of the 1003.

If the mortgage is on the present owner-occupied property, it will be counted from the 'present housing expenses' column at the top of the 1003 page 2.

If the mortgage is not on the owner occupied property, it will be counted in the negative rental income generated on page 3 of the 1003 in the schedule of real estate owned. Once the real estate owned section is completed, the negative rental income will be reflected back at the top of the liabilities section on page 2 in the negative rental income box.
